Restaurant manager and Mzansi Tenor Vuyisa Xipu surprised Ken and Penny Annandale with a beautiful song for their 25th wedding anniversary celebration.

Simon’s Town, South Africa (15 January 2024) – Restaurant manager Vuyisa Xipu from Bertha’s Restaurant in Simon’s Town left patrons in awe when he shared his operatic talent. Serenading Ken and Penny Annandale, the talented tenor helped them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in the most beautiful way.

Ken took to his Facebook on the 19th of December, 2023, to share a video of Vuyisa singing for the table. He says that Vuyisa, who called himself the “manager who likes to sing” introduced himself and then went on to sing for them. The moment left everyone speechless.

“New UCT graduate tenor, Vusi Nzanoh Xipu, introduced himself as the “manager” who likes to sing and then broke into song to the amazement of the guests!

This incredible performer deserves every accolade, as he embarks on his promising singing career.” – Ken Annandale

Vuyisa is part of the popular ensemble Mzansi Tenors. We were first introduced to these talented performers when they serenaded beachgoers in Camps Bay as part of promoting a show they were putting on in the area. The group put on chill-inducing performances that always bring tears to the eye.

Vuyisa sharing a part of his talent with the Annandale’s left us feeling all the love. And it earned him a standing ovation, too!
