Mark Pilgrim recently posted some of his rejection letters and said that he is sharing them to motivate his fans.

Johannesburg (02 June 2021) – Mark Pilgrim posted rejection letters to his Twitter account to motivate his fans to never give up on their aspirations and give his followers hope for their big break.

The DJ, who has 20-year experience in the field, shared the rejection letters he received at the time when he was trying to find a breakthrough in the field.

Rejection letter received by LEGEND Mark Pilgrim

In one of the letters he was sent by 702 reads:

“We have listened to your tape but unfortunately you still need a great deal of practice. The main problem is your diction particularly with the pronunciation of the letter ‘R’.”

Pilgrim, disappointed, however, did not allow himself to give up. Instead, the radio legend went ahead to create a name on major stations and TV channels.

For almost two decades, Pilgrim has entertained millions of radio listeners.

He has hosted several radio shows, more importantly, 94.5 Kfm, 947, 5FM, and Hot919… and won MULTIPLE awards.

He is equally as ease in front of the camera as he is behind the microphone, having been on several TV programmes, including Big Brother South Africa, Big Brother Africa, Retail Therapy, and Sex Etc. on MNET; New Moves on e-TV; and Face2face on SABC2. His most recent show was the Power of 10 on MNET, South Africa’s biggest-ever game program.

On Twitter, he wrote:
“If you need a little motivation to keep chasing YOUR dream… just some of my rejection letters received over an 8-year period before spending 26 years on 5fm, 947, kfm, Hot919, Mnet, SABC2 and eTV.”
Fans from his Twitter account were excited that Pilgrim did not give up. They tweeted back congratulatory messages and were startled by Pilgrim’s resilience.
