Wheelchair Basketball

South Africa’s ‘Sasol Amawheelies’ are currently in Canada playing in the World Wheelchair Basketball Championship! Win or loose they are making us proud!

 

The ‘Sasol Amawheelies’ are currently in Canada for the 2017 under 23’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championship. They jetted off on the 4th of June to represent the entire African continent. The Championship has taken place from the 8th to the 16th of June.

Simangaye Shabalala, one of the team members secured himself the ‘man of the match’ award in their match against Japan.

The team is filled with inspirational men who are all very passionate about the sport! They all come from different provincial teams and hope to make South Africa proud!

“My goal is to make the country proud of us!” – Siyanda Dube

Bofelo Ramonne is the youngest member of the team, at just 14 he a rising star in the sport! The other members of the team all shared their wishes and goals for the sport and their personal lives and wish them all well!

Today the ‘Sasol Amawheelies’ enter into the knockout rounds! We wish you luck guys, no matter what, you have made us all proud!
