Sally Wench, a single mother and teacher who embodies kindness and compassion, is facing one of life’s greatest challenges. Sally is currently battling terminal cancer but continues to work hard for her special needs son, Luke.

Parkview, South Africa (05 November 2024)—Many people of the Parkview community in Johannesburg may know the friendly face of Sally Wench. She is a selfless charity volunteer and preschool teacher who has touched countless lives through her dedication to children and her community.

Known for always putting others first and volunteering her time to various causes, Sally has spent her life giving to others.

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Sally now faces a devastating health battle with stage 4 metastatic melanoma cancer. This devastating disease has spread throughout her body, leaving her with a limited time.

As a single mother, Sally faces the overwhelming challenge of having to care and provide for her special needs son, Luke, despite the quick progression of her illness and the difficulty of performing daily tasks.

Despite her illness, the resilient mother continues to work full-time as a preschool teacher to provide for her son.

According to a BackaBuddy crowdfunding campaign, Sally’s most significant concern isn’t for herself but for Luke’s future.

“Her primary wish is to ensure that Luke can continue his education and receive the support he needs after she is gone. This is where our community can make a real difference.

“For someone who has given so much to others throughout her life, it’s now our turn to give back,” says Janita Lawrence Lawrence on the BackaBuddy page.

Any contribution will make a difference in helping this remarkable mother and dedicated teacher.
