50,000 Santa Shoeboxes have been pledged already, which means they are 72% of the way there; if you have not signed up yet, you could be the person who makes a child’s festive season amazing!

South Africa (04 October 2023) – South Africans have done outstanding work this year and have already pledged to gift Santa Shoeboxes to 72% of the children on the list this year. That means they only need to find 30,000 more pledges to make sure every child gets a gift this year!

“We’re OVER THE MOON! We’ve just hit the 72% mark on our pledge journey. But there’s still work to be done, and it’s crucial that we come together until we reach the finish line. No child in need should go without a #SantaShoebox”

Every pledge means a child gets a unique and heartfelt gift, knowing that someone out there is thinking of them in the lead-up to the festive season. You can find out how to make your box here.

Even if you cannot make up a box yourself, you can pledge a virtual box that will enable the team to fill a box on your behalf. You can purchase a virtual box here.

This is what to pack in your shoebox

Please remember that all items must be NEW and AGE-APPROPRIATE.

All of the following items are required:

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Bar of soap
  • Washcloth
  • An outfit of clothing
  • Educational supplies
  • Sweets
  • A toy

Some additional things to consider:

  • Please put all liquids, like cosmetics or blow bubbles, into a ziplock bag, so that the contents cannot leak out and spoil the shoebox.

The following is a list of things we ask you NOT to include in your Santa Shoebox:

  • Perishable or tinned food or sweets containing nuts. Please put chocolates in a ziplock bag.
