Charity Begin’s With Me has been using some of the proceeds of its book sales to help pay off the school fees of a young lady, so she can continue her schooling.
Johannesburg, South Africa (15 March 2024) — Book sales have played a major role in helping reduce a school fees debt of R39,500 to R13,850. Stephen Ferreira had committed to this task to help a young lady finish school.
The funds from the regular charity book sales fund many of the projects run by Charity Begins With Me. Donors send in used books, which are then sold on big book sale days. All the funds raised go towards projects like this school fees one.
There is a need for more books to help cover the final payments for the young lady’s fees. If you have books to share, you can find all the details below.
“I have been helping a student with school fees since last year and we’ve been paying as much as we possibly can to settle her final year fees before the end of May.
It has been such a long journey with many sacrifices but the end is in sight.
We are hoping to pay the bulk of the outstanding amount with our next book sale, but we need books!!
If you have ANY books you no longer need, please send them my way.”
Stephen started ‘Charity Begins With Me‘ shortly after he was first diagnosed with cancer in 2016. He realised he could do so much more with the life he had left and quickly set up the charity as a way to give back. He ran the charity throughout his chemotherapy treatments, remission and, sadly, his relapse. Whatever battles he faces in his own life, it is those of others that give him the strength to push through.
Working with the local community has become a huge part of Stephen’s life and making sure the children are catered for, is his top priority.
