Siboniso wakes up every morning puts on his school uniform, picks up his bag and walks over to a tree outside his home…He is Autistic so it’s his only option

Siboniso’s story has moved us to tears, his dream is to attend school. Siboniso is 11-years-old and was diagnosed with autism. Due to his family’s financial situation, he is unable to attend a special needs school as the fees are far too expensive.

So each day, he puts on his uniform, laces up his perfectly polished shoes and picks up his bag filled with books. He walks over to a shady spot under the tree next to his house, sits down and does his schooling all alone.

Samantha Parrish has been a driving force over the last two years, trying to enrol him into a school but it has proven to be more challenging than she hoped.

“He is a special needs child and I have been trying for two years to enrol him into a special needs school but it has proved impossible due to transportation issues as the child cannot catch taxi’s on his own, as he needs supervision. The institutions in and around Shongweni have astronomical fees, which are beyond my reach.” – Dawn Harrison

The Angel Network set up a crowdfund to get Siboniso into school. His biggest dream is to attend a school where he can learn each day.

“It is clear that young Siboniso wants so desperately to fit in but he’s being forgotten and lost in a system that cannot help him. Imagine the difference we could make if we came together to make him feel noticed, loved and appreciated? Doesn’t everyone deserve that?”

They have already reached just over 25% of their funding goal. There is hope for his future, with the Angel Network driving his cause, he may very well have his dreams come true. You can find out more about how to assist the Angel Network and Siboniso here.
