The plea to find retiree Shadow a loving home to spend the remainder of his life was met with great enthusiasm, and now, he has been successfully adopted!
Somerset West, South Africa (26 October 2021) – Rescue Animal Drive (R.A.D) shared a post about an old dog they have taken into the care; Shadow, who was looking for a loving retirement home. We can happily report, Shadow has a home to spend his final months in.
Shadow’s tale is one all too common in animal rescue circles. Shadow was given up to make space for a new puppy. R.A.D took him in, and while the vet shared he has bad hips, Shadow still has a vigour and a bit of a skip in his step. The team at R.A.D had placed him in a foster home until they could find him a lovely home to spend his final months.
They shared that a wonderful couple came forward and were approved to adopt Shadow.
“Thank you Nadia and Ralph for adopting our special old man! We couldn’t be happier for him and we are so glad he got a chance to find real happiness – better late than never! He already looks very much at home with your pack.
Thank you Winks for fostering him . He literally dropped years in the short time he was with you. Thank you for making space for him whilst we found him a home and for giving him such relaxing brush sessions every afternoon!
Go well Shadow – you deserve every day of happiness from now on!”
