The Single Parents Helping Hands group on Facebook is filling the gap financially and offering support to parents in need.

South Africa – It is tough raising children and expensive too, so when it’s just you alone, it can be extremely stressful. That is why Angi Paris Lizemore started a single parents group as a way for parents to lean on each other.

A common thread we have discussed here has been how through community, we thrive, and this group proves it. At the moment, it is Matric Dance season which can be quite expensive. The group have pooled their resources and are helping a few single parents send their children to their matric dances.

The parents involved with the group supply children with toiletries, school clothing, school books, and help cover school camps. They focus on assisting children in getting through school without worrying about their parent struggling financially. Many children never say, but they notice these kinds of things.

The group also supports single mom’s with new babies, they are invited to step forward for help, advice and anything else they may need.

Divorce is often a significant cause of becoming a single parent, and sometimes the parent is left with little to nothing. Single Parents Helping Hands help people to start over by providing furniture and clothing. It can be hard starting over, but this group makes sure nobody is ever alone.

We have seen so many South Africans coming together, and we are so proud to see yet another group working to help parents in need. If you are a single parent or know a single parent in need, you can join the group here.
