You can now use your Discovery Vitality Active Rewards for good and donate them to a child in need, bringing smiles to the most precious faces.

South Africa (11 February 2021) – The Smile Foundation has had quite the ride during the pandemic, but they made sure to care for the people they loved the most. From making sure medical staff had the PPE they needed, to working hard to ease the backlog of life-changing surgeries for children.

The organisation has been grateful for all the help they have received from the public and doctors, nurses and other medical staff donating their time for such a good cause. Now they have an additional helping hand thanks to their partnership with Discovery Vitality MoveToGive.

Discovery’s Vitality MoveToGive has partnered with Smile Foundation to make a difference in the lives of South African children living with facial conditions this February. MoveToGive enables members of Vitality Active Rewards to donate the Discovery Miles that they have earned through achieving their exercise goals, driving well or by spending responsibly, to various charitable organisations.

Until the 15th of February, Discovery Vitality members will be able to donate the following Discovery Miles amounts to Smile Foundation:

  • For 200 Discovery Miles, contribute towards speech therapy for a child who has reconstructive facial surgery.
  • For 500 Discovery Miles, help provide counselling to a parent of a child who has received reconstructive facial surgery.
  • For 1 500 Discovery Miles, help a child receive reconstructive facial surgery.

To donate through Vitality #MoveToGive, Vitality members should ensure they have the latest version of the
Discovery app downloaded, and that Vitality Active Rewards is activated.

“Last year was an exceptionally challenging year for so many and we are beyond privileged to be part of the Vitality MoveToGive fundraising initiative together with Discovery Vitality. These contributions from Discovery Vitality members will mean the world to a child in need of being accepted, uplifted and given the opportunity to live to their full potential.”

“With immense gratitude, we thank Discovery Vitality for acting as a conduit and connecting their valued members to our NGO. We encourage Discovery Vitality members to take part and use your Discovery Miles to create many more smiles in the hearts of SA’s young children. These contributions will directly impact children enabling them to live a healthy, happy and fulfilling life,’ – Hedley Lewis of Smile Foundation

James Vos of Vitality said, “We are inspired and encouraged by how generous our members have been in making vital contributions through MoveToGive during this testing time, and we’re very pleased to be able to support the Smile Foundation.
