South African Sais du Plooy

Sais du Plooy was driving home after spending the evening with a fellow South African watching the rugby. He uses the drive to sing and inspire the country.

Sais du Plooy is trying to make South Africa a better place after the tough few weeks it’s endured. While driving home from Johannesburg to Nelspruit he filmed a video urging South African’s to make the country better.

Sais was in Johannesburg to watch the rugby at Ellis Park with a friend. Sais went to watch the Sharks vs Lions with Beki Shongwe who gave him the tickets.

“I started to think, South Africa has really been through a few dark weeks! With many incidents taking place and so on.”

‘But last night just told an absolutely different story. And I want to motivate everyone to just to take that small step towards making the country a better place, we have just got so much potential”

Sais du Plooy then went on to say the most inspiring and motivating thing of all! Calling for unity, acceptance and understanding.

“Don’t be afraid to make new friends, and accommodate people with different cultural backgrounds and racial backgrounds. You might be surprised when you take that little step”

Sais then proceeds to sing a beautiful mash up of  Bright Blues ‘Weeping’ and Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrica. He asks everyone to listen to the words and to do their bit for South Africa. It is a beautiful rendition of two songs that hold massive meaning to South Africans.

Weeping is a song that is written about appreciating and understanding our common humanity.

I’ve never posted anything like this on Social Media, but I just had this epiphany and I felt the need to share my experience with people.
