Brett Nash recently celebrated his 17th birthday and his favourite store, the SPAR at Retail Crossing, through him a birthday party, including three cakes!

Johannesburg, South Africa (15 January 2021) – Every year, the SPAR at Retail Crossing throw a birthday celebration for their favourite customer. Brett Nash has a great love for the store and all the staff within.

Brett Nash, 17-years-old, has lived his entire life with a clinically undiagnosed rare disease. A group of doctors have managed to diagnose one of his conditions, Distal Arthrogryposis.

Every evening, Brett and his mother Tammy visited their local SPAR and the staff there would always make it a special occasion for Brett. Tammy can’t really pinpoint exactly how the Spar shopping routine started but believes that it happened a little over 7 years ago, and every evening since then, it has become the highlight of Brett’s day.

Pre-Covid, the trips were a highlight, but with the new world, Brett and Tammy have spent more time at home, and the trips to SPAR have become guarded and distanced.

Despite this, Brett made his usual SPAR trip for his birthday, and the surprise he received was the very best!

“SPAR Retail Crossing how can we ever thank you for what you do for our special boy. You never cease to make us with your love, time and energy with Brettie.
Today you made his 17th birthday one none of us will ever forget.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do xxx”
