Shaun Harry was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer shortly after the family hit hard times and had to cut their medical aid to keep food on the table

Now his friends are working to raise funds to help ease the financial burden of his medical bills. Denver Apollus started a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy for his friend.

“A dear friend, father, husband and son, Shaun Craig Harry is braving Stage 4 Cancer. Shortly before Shaun’s diagnosis both him and his wife Vikki experienced financial strain and was forced to cut back on expenses to keep food on the table for their family. Medical Aid is one of the cutbacks have posed a huge risk to Shaun’s illness and the bills are piling up for them.”

Already, the campaign has raised R 142 656.85 towards the goal. Denver hopes that the assistance will bring some relief to Shaun and his family during this time.

“We ( friends and family) are extremely grateful for the donors who have willingly pitched in to carry on with Shaun’s treatment. There are no words to explain the overwhelming feeling of gratitude. During this time we lay our faith in God’s plan for Shaun and will see him through the doors of recovery but we will need financial assistance to cover medical treatment, medication, blood tests and potential transfusions, physio… and the list goes on. We ask humbly to support.”

People have showered Shaun with love and support and sent through their wishes for him to keep fighting. Denver was completely overwhelmed by the comments posted on the campaign saying, “Wow – we are at a loss for words at the overwhelming support. THANK YOU, thank you. THANK YOU!”

“Dear Shaun, You are always so inspirational and a positive influence to those around you. Keep fighting Brother! You, Vikki and the kids are in our thoughts and prayers…” – Burton and Fiona

“Stay positive and keep believing no matter what the circumstances. JESUS SAVES! Love you mate!” – A Praying friend

“Wishing you, Shaun and the girls love and light. May you find strength and comfort in each other and all those rallying around you. Miracles do happen. ” – Marilyn
