stationery

A father and son worked hard to collect stationery which they donated to underprivileged schools in South Africa, setting a #JustRight example.

Johannesburg, South Africa – There are many schools in South Africa that lack the resources for pupils to thrive and many families who cannot afford to buy the stationery required to do school work. That is why Wilfred Dube and his son, Milani, a grade 6 pupil at Greyville Primary School, teamed up to make a #JustRight difference.

Wilfred and Milani donated a Pantum P2500w printer as well as over 300 pencils, pens and colouring pencils. Their donation, along with all the other donations received in the drive, were then handed over to the Cyril Rhamaposa Foundation to distribute to schools in need.

The Dube’s did this #JustRight Deed to help underprivileged school children. Wilfred made the donation very easy. He kept a box at home and every time the Dube family were at the shops, he would add a small amount of stationery to the trolley. After some time, the box was filled to the brim with pens and pencils.

“There are children who are talented, [who] have dreams but who struggle to study despite difficulties. For the less fortunate, stationery is considered a luxury and they simply cannot afford it. In donating stationery, I know we have changed someone’s life.”

As part of the stationery drive, a school was selected as an overall winner if they collected the most stationery. Milani’s school was the recipient of a mobile library, yet another tool to help benefit students. We at Good Things Guy are blown away by Wilfred and Milani’s #JustRight example. They are proof that many small #JustRightDeeds add up to make a big difference!

“Quality stationery makes school life easier for students.”

We have teamed up with Just Property to celebrate the good deeds that South Africans do daily. Every week we will celebrate a deed right here on this platform, but we need your help!

Here’s how you can get involved:

1. TELL us on social media about someone who performed a #JustRight Deed.
2. TAG a friend to do the same.
3. USE #JustRightDeeds and #JustProperty.
