Charnay Green has become a mother-figure to many students in Stellenbosch; sadly, her house burned down, so one student is raising money to help out.
Stellenbosch, South Africa – Daniela Boscia a student at Stellenbosch and she is raising funds to help Charnay Green, the woman that cleans their rooms at res. Charnay’s family have lost everything in a fire, so Daniela is hoping to raise some money to help them recover some of what they lost.
“Charnay is the cleaner to many students in Stellenbosch. She is loyal, friendly and beyond hard-working. Over this year, she has become a mother away from home to all of us, she is always so willing to help and she shows so much concern when any of us are out of sorts.
She goes the extra mile by taking the time to send us a message when something seems wrong or even makes sure to ask when our tests are and wishes us luck.”
Charnay’s home burned down leaving her, her husband and three children homeless and with nothing but the clothes in their backs. The most distressing part is that Charnay has a 4-month-old and all her newborn essentials were lost.
“Just the other day, she was telling me that she plans to buy her own home as all she wants is for her children to have a bedroom of their own. Now, they have been left without a house, clothing, food, and essentials for her newborn baby. If anyone is willing and able to help our dearest Charnay, with anything, it would be so greatly appreciated.”
Any funds raised will be used to purchase, clothing, food, and anything they might need to get back on their feet. The money will be paid over to Charnay’s employer, who will then transfer it to Charnay. If you would like to assist the family, you can donate here.
