You are never too old to follow your dreams and that is exactly what Mr Gaza did, he started studying to be a lawyer 18 years ago and today, he is one at last.

Tshwane, South Africa – The story of Mr Gaza’s achievement has gone viral and is inspiring thousands of South Africans to get back to studying. His story starts in 1974 when he did as many odd jobs as he could to help pay for his first degree.

In 1984 he graduated for the first time with a Bachelor of Commerce. He then went on to study a Bachelor of Arts and graduated in 1991.

Mr Gaza then went on to start his LLB and he always wanted to be a lawyer. He studied for a total of 18 years, 14 years for his LLB and 4 years to complete his board exams.

It was a bit of a challenge for him to finally be admitted as an attorney. According to Seiso Mpho Modisenyane, the courts wouldn’t admit him due to his age and a few other issues.

“Due to his age and various past issues the court couldn’t admit him in the morning and we had to stand down his application for a supplementary affidavit and making certain submissions in support of his admission, finally, I present to you a 76-year-old newly admitted attorney.”

They eventually managed to get him admitted at 13:30 pm.

“I have always wanted to be a lawyer, the LLB route was the hardest but not enough for me to give up on” – Mr Gaza

Mr Gaza is proof that you are never too old to follow your dreams or make them come true. Hundreds of people who have already seen his story are now committing to getting the qualifications they have always dreamed of having.
