homeless

American 4-year-old, Austin Perine, learned what it meant to be homeless so he convinced his parents to use his pocket money to buy food for the homeless instead.

Austin Perine was watching a TV show about Pandas when he learned what it meant to be homeless. He didn’t like the idea and wanted to make things better for the homeless in Birmingham, Alabama USA.

He asked his parents to use his pocket money and the money they spend on toys to buy food for the homeless instead. Now every week he takes his money to a local fast food chain and buys chicken sandwiches.

Then, accompanied by his father, he visits the areas in his neighbourhood that are populated by homeless people. He gives them each a sandwich and cooldrink and reminds them to show love.

In an interview with CBS News, Austin tells people he is President Austin. His father said he chose this name because he thinks its what presidents should be doing.

“I was like, buddy, you have no idea, but hey, I’m going along with it.”, TJ Perine, Austin’s father, told CBS News.

Austin really cares about what happens to homeless people and wants to spread a little love their way. Steve Hartman asked him “Now, why do you do that?” and his response just melts the heart!

“You know what Mr Steve, it’s just the right thing to do!”

So “don’t forget to show love!” Watch the sweet interview below.
