Karen Bruwer shared a post on our group thanking a Taxi driver for helping her son after his tyre burst. The man went above and beyond to assist her son.

South Africans are phenomenal people, compared to most, we are helpful and engaging. Well, this is what we have been told by many tourists. But it is actually true!

Here at Good Things Guy we often get emails and messages from people sharing their thanks to a person that helped them along the way. We can’t publish all of them as some just don’t have enough information about the person that did the good deed or the reader just wanted to share a little good with us but not make it public.

Karen Bruwer sent us a message thanking the taxi driver that helped her son. She didn’t get his name or any other information but wanted to share his good deed with us.

Her son Joshua had burst a tyre on the roadside and this Good Samaritan stopped to assist. The driver gave him a lift and let Joshua use his phone to contact Karen.

“My son Joshua Haynes had a blowout this morning on the highway. This message is just to thank the taxi driver who stopped to help him, gave him a lift, let Josh use his phone and phoned me an hour later to see if everything was ok!!!”

He even checked in later to make sure all was okay. These unsung heroes of South Africa are our backbone. Even if we don’t get names and pictures, we are grateful for the selfless actions made by so many.

So, if you are reading this and you stopped to help someone out, give yourself a pat on the back and know that we love people like you! Thank you for all that you do to continue inspiring SA.
