The Baby Home was given a new layer of paint, sprucing up the rooms that are dedicated to taking in abandoned and orphaned babies in the North of Durban.
Durban North, South Africa (01 February 2022) – The Baby Home in Durban North got a new lick of paint over the weekend. The haven is a safe space for abandoned and orphaned babies.
As South Africa has so many vulnerable children, with over 3500 children abandoned each year. The organisation was launched to offer a place where babies and toddlers can be nurtured and feel loved. Bjorn and Jo Teunissen run the home and have a passion for protecting children in need.
They have three children of their own and care for up to six babies at a time with the help of an incredible team of carers.
“The Baby Home is a fully registered Place of Safety that cares for abandoned or orphaned babies and babies given up for adoption. We nurture each of our babies individually, providing them with the love and care that every child deserves. We do this until a permanent solution is found for each child.”
The home welcomes donations for their little babies. These donations include much-needed nappies ( 1 to 5), baby foods, store vouchers, cleaning products, and so much more. You can find ways to help out here.
Jo was so chuffed with the work done by painter Prince; she has shared the pictures on social media and his business card in the hopes he will get more work from the shout out.
