Thokozani Truck Driver Kindness 1

A Truck driver has inspired the nation after stopping to help a woman who had an accident on a quiet road with no one around.

South Africa (17 September 2017) – Thokozani had no reason to stop but when he saw a woman stranded on the side of the road, he knew he had to help as there was no one else around.

Bruce Macaulay was traveling on the same road when he saw the truck stopping to assist the woman and snapped a picture which has subsequently gone viral… and inspired thousands with the simple act of kindness.

“Meet Thokozani, a real South African hero! This morning I was driving on the R40 outside Nelspruit on the way to Barberton and all of a sudden, this woman lost control of her car and drove into the barrier on the opposite side if the road. She missed an oncoming car by a hair!”

Without thinking twice, Thokozani made a U-turn and parked his truck in the emergency lane, creating a diversion for traffic away from the accident. He stayed the entire time and directed traffic while waiting for emergency services to arrive. He literally helped to prevent a bigger accident.

“He had no reason to stop to help. He didn’t care that she was white. He didn’t care about anything else, accept helping her. He just cared!”

After the woman was stabilized and the entire situation was under control, Bruce called the trucking company to speak to Thokozani’s management, to tell them about the random act of kindness. Bruce left Thokozani with these words…

“People like you give me hope for South Africa!”
