"Tots with Tails" Puppy and Kitten Creche Launches in Khayelitsha!

The ‘Tots with Tails’ Puppy and Kitten Creche is here and ready to give the youngest paw pals a special start at life in Khayelitsha!

Khayelitsha, South Africa (15 May 2024) — Mdzananda Animal Clinic has announced the opening of the brand new ‘Tots with Tails’ puppy and kitten creche in Khayelitsha!

The new creche is a transformative initiative that will help provide puppies and kittens in need of temporary shelter a better wait while they seek their forever homes; bettering their chances of being healthy, and boosting their socialisation experiences.

Thanks to the generous support from animal heroes worldwide, this facility has been built and is now ready to serve as a safe haven for Mdzananda Animal Clinic’s youngest residents. The space boasts a dedicated area for the tiny tails’ socialisation and exercise, as well as a cosy meet-and-greet zone for potential adopters.

By housing their young animals separately from older ones and strategically distancing them from the main hospital, Mdzananda Animal Clinic believes it can significantly reduce their risk of exposure to potential diseases and viruses, while giving them their very own space to grow.

Kelly Arendse, Fundraiser at Mdzananda Animal Clinic says, “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dogs Trust International for their invaluable contribution to building and equipping this creche. This new addition to our clinic will make a profound impact on the lives of the puppies and kittens we care for. Equipped with amenities for eating, sleeping, socialising, and playing, this space provides a nurturing environment for these vulnerable animals to thrive and ultimately find loving forever homes.”

The ‘Tots with Tails’ creche is yet another way that the Mdzananda Animal Clinic has proven its commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals in need.
