Michelle Voster was stuck on the side of the road without petrol when a tow truck driver stopped to lend a helping hand without even charging her.

Johannesburg, South Africa – Michelle Voster found herself in quite the predicament. She got stuck without petrol on Witkoppen road in the North of Johannesburg. People drove by without checking if she was okay and some even hooted at her in annoyance for being on the side of the road.

Michelle was growing nervous as she was annoyed; she let herself get stuck in this situation. The next minute a Good Samaritan drove by and saved the day. Sancky Mathebula is a tow truck driver for AA. He pulled over to make sure Michelle was ok. She told him what was wrong and without hesitating, he lowered his truck bed to help move her car off the roadside and to a nearby petrol station.

Michelle was so blown away by his kindness and willingness to assist her without charge. She shared the story on Facebook, and many people praised him for his efforts to keep her safe and get her back on the road.

“Please share this!! Let’s make this amazing man famous!!! So tonight on my way home, I got stuck without petrol on Witkoppen because I’m an idiot like that. Nobody stopped to ask if I was ok, in fact, some people were hooting at me although I had my hazards on. And then a tow truck came as if sent from heaven and stopped to ask if I was ok. I told him I had run out of petrol and he offered to tow me to the nearest garage at no charge.

When I got into the tow truck he told me he couldn’t just leave me there because I am a woman alone. By the time he got to me, I had started getting a bit panicky and concerned that someone was gonna drive into me but he was so lovely and took total control. Once we got to the petrol station he waited to make sure my car started. Thank you kind sir, I am forever grateful for your act of kindness. You have restored my faith in humanity”

Michelle managed to track down Sancky and spoke with his manager. She learned that Sancky isn’t a once-off Good Samaritan, he was given an award last year for his excellent service, and his manager often gets calls to offer compliments about Sancky.

Michelle was worried he would get in trouble for helping her without charging, but his manager was proud of his actions.

“He is not going to be in trouble for helping me at no charge and the manager was just as grateful as I am that Sancky came along and saved the day and made sure I was safe! The AA will also be setting up a meeting between Sancky and I so that I can thank him and let him know just how much he has touched my life”

“He is one of the most humble human beings I’ve ever met.”

The two will meet soon, and we can’t wait to share the rest of the story then.
