Hlumelo hasn’t let the lockdown stop him from practising his passion; his brothers filmed him dancing behind his home and shared it to inspire others!

Gugulethu, South Africa (29 April 2020) – 13-year-old Zama Dance School student, Hlumelo has inspired many with his lockdown dancing. He has been practising his allegro during South Africa’s lock-down. His brothers, Shaun and Lubabalo, filmed him practising at the back of their house.

The Zama Dance School have been using the Facebook group to stay in contact and share how they are keeping busy during the lockdown. The school is based in Gugulethu, a township in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Allegro in ballet is a fast, swift movement or a brisk, lively movement. As you can see from the high-energy clip below, Hlumelo is nailing it!

His dance clip was seen by Helen from Aware Bears loved his performance. Having cerebral palsy, she explained that she might have some limits, but she loves dancing and Hlumelo inspired her to carry on with it!

Take a look at Hlumelo’s allegro practise below.

Aside from Hlumelo’s video, the group shares other clips as well as news about how life is during the lockdown. It was even arranged that the students received a helping hand with food. You can find out more here.
