Classic bike enthusiast Enrico Pretorius found himself pushing his beloved bike to the nearest petrol station when two guys stopped and offered a helping hand.
Midrand, South Africa (05 September 2023) – Classic bike enthusiast and rider Enrico Pretorius became another South African embraced by kindness on the roadside. This form of kindness always brings a smile to our faces and whenever we hear these stories, we have to share them!
Enrico was driving on New Road in Midrand when his beloved bike came to a shuddering halt. He had been on his way to the petrol station and broke down just before the turn-off. What lay ahead was set to be a hot walk, pushing his bike towards the petrol station.
Two gentlemen towing an empty trailer spotted Enrico from a distance and made their way towards him to offer a helping hand.
“Got stuck without fuel just before the New Road fuel station. These guys stopped, loaded me and the bike and drove slowly and carefully to the fuel station. These selfless acts to strangers needs to be celebrated.” – Enrico
The two men happily helped Enrico and his classic bike to the petrol station. Once the bike was offloaded they hit the road again.
Enrico was still processing the kindness when he realised he had not asked for the names of the kind men. He said it was such a casual moment as if this happens every day.
In fact, it does happen every day. We see these stories and are reminded that yes there are some bad eggs in the bunch but most South Africans want to help, they want their fellow citizens to feel safe when stranded on the roadside.
These acts of kindness come from the very best parts of us all!
