Accident Uber

A Joburg Uber driver, and passenger are being hailed as heroes after stopping the car to save a couple being mugged!

Over the past decade, Uber has connected a global community of people who use the technology for transportation, food delivery, business and work. But the Uber App also brings South Africans together, and some of these “Uber Stories” can inspire a nation to be better!

Recently, a Joburg Uber driver, and passenger stopped the trip to save a couple being mugged! This is their incredible story.

Joburg Uber driver praised for stopping a mugging!

Nkululeko Ngubane posted a compliment to Twitter, thanking his driver for the act of bravery.

“Compliment to Uber South Africa! Thank you Thato for respecting my wish when I asked you to stop when we saw a couple being mugged, along Queen Elizabeth bridge (JHB), I know that this put both our lives at risk, but I’m happy that we succeeded to saving the couple & their belongings.

Plenty people do wish to help, but out of fear they end up not. My brother was mugged a month ago in the CBD, he was left unconscious by the group of thugs after being striped of his belongings, the pain he endured was too much to bear.

We should make their lives uncomfortable as well, this is the only way we can reclaim our streets back, risky but we don’t have any choice! #CrimeMustFall”

Uber South Africa sent a message to Ngubane to let him know that his tweet had been shared with the driver!

“We’ve reached out to your amazing driver and thanked him for his heroism. This is the most incredible #UberStory we’ve ever heard! Keep rocking and don’t ever stop sharing your experiences.”
