Paballo Lobone, an emergency hero, saves lives by using his emergency training even though he has struggled to land a job in the industry.
Johannesburg, South Africa (19 February 2020) – Paballo Lobone has been volunteering with companies to get work experience so he can find a job, but he has struggled. Paballo has saved countless lives thanks to his training and has always hoped it would help him find a job.
He studied and has fire-fighter, ambulance and safety skills. With the laws of attraction at play, people in need always seem to be wherever Paballo is.
In 2018, he was walking with his cousin through Hillbrow and saw a group of panicked people over the road. He went to see what was wrong and found a woman giving birth. He helped her stay calm and delivered the baby safely. The news about his actions went viral, and he became a hero in the media for a time.
He has also stopped the bleeding of a man who had been mugged and stabbed, he calmed and treated a woman who had been hit by a car, and he helped when two shacks near his home caught fire.
Paballo is so used to being the hero now; he keeps latex gloves in his pocket so he can help in a heartbeat. According to his neighbours, if there is someone in need, Paballo will come running.
Sadly, his struggles continue and every promise he has heard has fallen through. He is a hard worker and just wants the opportunity to prove himself.
Karabo Ledwaba wrote about him for the Sowetan Live and confirmed that the young man just wants to support his family. Paballo currently lives with his mom and grandmother, they survive on his grandmother’s grant money.
