update

We have an awesome update about Eugene Yoon. We first covered his story in 2016 and since then he has embarked on a new kindness project.

We shared the amazing story of Eugene Yoon in February 2016, Eugene made a crazy decision to do an act of kindness for a stranger. He found a video on Facebook of a man that changed his outlook on life.

It was a video of a guy he never met named Arthur Renowitzky — a paraplegic in a t-shirt with bold letters of bold defiance. After being mugged, shot, and paralyzed nine years ago, Arthur vowed that he would walk again someday.

Eugene hiked part of the Pacific Crest Trail, the part which covers the entire state of California and comes to around 2778km. It took him 117 days to get from the border of Mexico to the border of Oregon USA, all to raise money for a pair of robotic legs for Arthur Renowitzky.

Since we shared the story Eugene has taken on another project, this time helping a man in California take care of his family and offer him full time employment at a livable wage. Eugene met Alberto on the famous Skid Row. Alberto has taken in 12 kids and 12 adult family members into his home.

“These beautiful bubbly kids are the higher purpose behind my kindness-inspired startup company.

There are 12 kids total living under one roof (alongside 12 adults). All of them deserve equal access to opportunities. All of them deserve an opportunity outside of poverty. All of them deserve to be sheltered from the anti-brown & anti-immigrant bigotry that is pervading Trump’s ignorant policies.”

Eugene hired Alberto, who is a talented seamstress to help with his startup clothing line ‘Kin Lov Gra’. The line is geared up to use money made to offer a decent living wage to employees and to fund more kindness projects.

“This startup business has been one of the most rewarding and challenging journeys I’ve ever embarked on.”

Watch the moving update from CBS below, they cover the original story as well as the update in the end.
