Road Rage Forgiven

A road rage incident went viral this week but since then the parties involved have come together to wash each others feet, expressing forgiveness and understanding.

Marius Geldenhuys and Egan Vorster were involved in a road rage incident earlier in the week. The incident was filmed by Egan and quickly went viral across South Africa. Marius had approached Egan’s vehicle holding a piece of wood, making verbal threats and racial slurs towards Egan for not maintaining a safe following distance.

Who would have ever guessed that the pair would meet face-to-face once more. Marius and Egan met up to work through the incident together. This came about after a member of Marius’s church saw the video and decided to bring the two men together.

After a slight apprehension Marius and Egan met up. The reconciliation took place at the office where Marius works. Marius apologised for his actions and explained his current circumstances which led him to snap.

“He came broken up and was in tears. He was going through a rough time‚ he was going through a divorce. He’s owning up to what he did. He just snapped because he’s having a rough time‚”

“It’s the most powerful way to show others there are no strings attached when forgiving someone.” – Egan Voster

Washing a man’s feet is the Christian way of showing humility towards another person. The men washed each others feet and prayed together. Egan wants people to know that forgiveness is key and nobody should live in hate. This story proves that while behaving badly is never okay, admitting you were wrong and asking for forgiveness is the first step to becoming a better person.
