In the tastiest act of kindness, volunteer bakers joined forces to help make a cupcake day a sweet success for the SPCA Midrand!

Kyalami, South Africa (20 May 2024) — A small army of volunteer bakers made a cupcake sale a roaring success for the SPCA Midrand earlier this month; testament to the power of sweet treats and sweeter hearts!

An important fundraising funnel for the animal-focused organisation, three tables were spread out with many of the tasty treats whipped up by the hands of volunteer bakers professional and might-as-well-be professional alike.

All in all, the SPCA Midrand was able to sell over 500 cupcakes with the help of other volunteers who made the time to help them on the day.

From kitty and doggo-inspired bakes to creative horse-shoe toppers, the thoughtfulness of many of the volunteer bakers was loud and proud!

With all the proceeds benefitting the animals in their care and beyond, what might look like one cupcake purchase to one person, is the hope of being able to treat an animal and make sure they have food to another.

Meanwhile in more cupcake news, the National Cupcake Topper Challenge is set to kickstart on 26 May and run for 10 weeks as led by Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer. Cake decorators and baking creatives across the country are invited to lend their flair to the challenge and can find out more by contacting vanessa@cupcakesofhope.org.
