A selfless volunteer that joined the One SMALL Act of Kindness team this week, saw a man who needed shoes and gave him the ones she was wearing.

Johannesburg, South Africa (02 December 2022) – One SMALL Act of Kindness based in Johannesburg, works to support people most in need. They provide meals to the vulnerable people living on the streets each week from giant pots loaded into a trailer. This week, a volunteer gave a man in need, her shoes.

One Small Act of Kindness was created and started from an idea on a Sunday night to help and assist communities and places that are missed or not assisted by other organisations. With more help and assistance from the communities, these places would be able to run a little more smoothly and assist or reach more than they are currently.

The aim is to assist old age homes, community foster homes, animal welfare, townships, locations, underprivileged nursery schools, and the homeless as well as shelters.

The organisation often gets help from volunteers and this week, one volunteer literally gave the shoes from her feet to a man in need. The moment was caught on camera but the team made sure to keep everyone’s identity private, thus making the act of kindness more powerful.

“It’s not every day that you get to witness selflessness.
Tonight we shared a beautiful moment with one of our volunteers and one of the guys that comes to our weekly feeding scheme.
He desperately needed a pair of good shoes. He walks the streets daily and needed a good pair of shoes to protect his feet from the harsh elements.
He was gifted a pair of shoes straight off a volunteer’s feet!!!
Thank you for reminding us why we do what we do. And this just proves that we really could not do what we do without our Army!!!!”

You can find out how to get involved as a volunteer or sponsor via Facebook here.
