The Kiffness song has had millions of downloads, and David Scott has pledged all royalties will continue to go to Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
Johannesburg, South Africa (11 March 2022) – David Scott from The Kiffness has made a global name for himself during the pandemic using ‘sound samples’ from cats to goats and even chicken nuggets to create songs that have gone viral. And they’re really good.
On the 4th of March, Scott collaborated to create a song with Andriy Khlyvnyuk, the frontman of top Ukrainian band Boombox (Бумбокс) who dropped his tour of the US to defend his country against Putin’s armed forces. The South African put the song on all streaming platforms and said that all royalties made from the video would go to humanitarian aid towards Ukraine.
Scott said that the response to the song was incredible!
“In just one day, the song has accrued over $7000 in royalties from Facebook, Bandcamp and Youtube.”
And Five days later, Scott made the first payment of 10,000 Euros (R169,245).
The song has had millions of downloads, and Scott has pledged that all royalties will continue to go to help Ukraine.
