Wits University is calling on Manhatten-based South Africans to join the celebration of 100 years of Excellence in Time Square.
Time Square, Manhattan (19 September 2022) – Vice-Chancellor and Professor Zeblon Zenzele Vilakazi will be celebrating 100 years of Excellence for Wits in Time Square this evening (SA Time). The university is calling on South Africans to head to the famous square to witness the moment.
The university is celebrating 100 years of educational excellence on a global scale seeing as many of its students are spread throughout the world.
“Our Centenary is a significant opportunity for us to galvanise our community to secure Wits’ place as one of the world’s great universities, mapping a bright future for this remarkable institution and strengthening our impact. We also want to show you who we are, what we can achieve together, and the immense impact Wits University has in changing and shaping society for the better.”
