Taliah Williamson wrote a book in honour of Mighty Mack and her fighting spirit, with the proceeds being donated to a childhood cancer charity – Cupcakes of Hope.

South Africa (23 August 2021)Mighty Mack’s story has touched the hearts of thousands of people since it was first shared in May of this year. Now, others are honouring her fighting spirit by giving back to life-changing causes.

Taliah Williamson, a friend of Meg and Bronson Friedman, wrote a book called ‘Wallow Willow’ in honour of Mackenzie, also known as Mighty Mack, and hopes to donate the proceeds the Friedman’s chosen charity, Cupcakes of Hope. The book is also dedicated to her own children.

On the 12th of May 2021, Mackenzie Friedman was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Mackenzie was rushed into treatment, and the fight began to end her cancer.

“It only seemed apt to dedicate my very first children’s book to the four little humans I utterly adore and admire most. This book is more than my very first publication. It’s more than a virtuous tale for the little eyes reading it. It’s a tribute to the unflinching love I have for my own babies and the unveiling spirit of a little girl with a big purpose, Mighty Mack. Mackenzie Friedman has fought an uphill battle with leukaemia in her short but monumental life and continues to astound doctors across the globe with her unrelenting will to conquer this scourge.

My wish is not only for the words of this book to resonate with the children and parents reading it, but for the proceeds to go towards making the lives of children and parents suffering this cursed disease a little easier on their hearts and pockets.”

“We are honoured to have been part of the journey, bringing this storybook to life and look forward to the positivity that it will encourage.”

Every year, Cupcakes of Hope aims to raise over R2 million to help with the monthly costs associated with the medical treatment and related expenses of over 100 families affected by childhood cancer that belong to the Cupcakes of Hope family.

Cupcakes of Hope is Non-Profit, and Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to raising funds to assist not only the financial and emotional needs of the warriors and their families fighting the disease but also to help drive awareness about early cancer detection in children through the love of baking. Now, nurturing a love for reading will also aid this incredible cause.

They always welcome people wanting to support their cause as it changes so many little lives. You can support the cause by purchasing a book here.
