A Zimbabwean who was found in a Xenophobic refugee camp has made his mark by getting his University degree!

Edmore was found almost 7 years ago in a Xenophobic refugee camp. The Zimbabwean had come to South Africa legally but at the time, was fearing for his life.

Romy Saltz Petersen met him at the refugee shelter for victims of Xenophobia and offered him the job as a guard for her girls dancing studio.

While working for the studio, Edmore decided to start studying through Unisa and just 5 years later, completed his BCom in Economics and Finance… just shy of a full distinction. In his last Finance exam, the incredible student achieved 94%!

“What an absolute honour and privilege to watch Edmore graduate this evening with a BCom in Economics and Finance through Unisa,” Michelle Rogoff Rosen

When they left Unisa that night, he told Michelle & Romy that he wants to be back on that stage, one day graduating with his doctorate!

“Even though he has finished studying he still sits and reads his textbooks. He has the most unbelievable work ethic, is extremely bright and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.”

And now Michelle & Romy are doing everything they can to help Edmore find work in his new chosen profession.

Edmore would love to be in the back office of a financial institution.
