When Ibby Piracha went into his local Starbucks last week, he was expecting to get his usual order of coffee—but he left with something worth SO much more than a $6 mocha frap.

You see, Ibby is deaf, and one barista had been keeping her eye on him during his routine visits. To his great surprise, he walked in one day greeted by her taking his order in sign language along with this endearing note that read, “I’ve been learning ASL just so you can have the same experience as everyone else.”

Though it may seem like a tiny gesture, it spoke volumes to Ibby, who took to Facebook with a message that has now been shared thousands of times. He wrote:

It’s so uplifting to see strangers stepping out of their comfort zones to show a little empathy and compassion for their fellow man.

And this isn’t the first time that a barista from Starbucks has gone above and beyond for its deaf customers.

When a girl named Sarah encountered a deaf woman at Starbucks, her heart broke at her own inability to communicate with the lady who was clearly lost on her verbal jargon.

Sarah’s favorite part of being a barista was chatting with the customers and diving into the intricacies of their lives over the mixing of lattes.

The language barrier hit her like a brick wall—so she decided to do something about it. She wasn’t looking for attention, but her breathtaking video has since went viral. Watch Sarah’s powerful story below.
