Remember in 2014 when President Jacob Zuma was put up for sale in a tongue-in-cheek advert on classifieds website Gumtree?

Reports surfaced that the advert was posted by “Average Joe” on Thursday but disappeared soon afterwards.

It featured Zuma’s picture, with the price set as “negotiable”.

“Desperately in need of a functioning president. This one costs too much to maintain, will take what we can get at the moment, just make an offer,” read the message accompanying the picture.

The advert said further that the seller was willing to “swap for smarter/cheaper model” but would not entertain offers from chancers –“only bar-code ID or TAX payers please”.

President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday made a surprise announcement that Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene would be removed from the Finance portfolio in Cabinet.

Nene, who was outspoken on the over expenditure of government and the troubled South African Airways is the shortest sitting finance minister in the history of the country.

The move has had an immediate negative effect on the economy, with the rand plummeting against major international currencies.

“The president continuously makes terrible decisions in the eyes of South Africans & the world.”

He might not be up for sale again but he is all over the internet, various petitions have surfaced drafted to Thuli Madonsela asking the president to step down.

Its simple… lead or step down.

And unfortunately Jacob Zuma cannot lead. His continuous actions & decisions are ruining South Africa.

Our unemployment has never been higher. Crime & corruption have become a standard. Government are pillaging our taxes & our economy is at a tipping point.

We need change.

Hopefully a petition can showcase how many people want change & hopefully together we can create that change.

The only reason politicians have power is because the people give it to them…

Perhaps thats the only way that change will come… is if people action something & create the change.

“Don’t know if signing will help but consider it done. He has been a terrible influence in SA and has done damage that will take decades to reverse, this man is a disgrace to South Africa’s wonderful people and country.”
