Our news is constantly plagued with bad news about the South African police so when good news about our force goes viral on social media networks, we have the social responsibility to share it, even if they feel like its just “them doing their jobs”.
Hlamalani Phephenyane, a South African from Cape Town lost her phone at work on Saturday & had the most amazing experience with the Goodwood Police Station. But I think the real story here is how they went out of their way to assist & refused a thank you gift afterwards.
Thank you Goodwood SAPS for helping Hlamalani & for showing South Africa the good side of our police force!
Here’s the original post!
At about 3pm this afternoon I lost my phone at work, it was off when we tried to call it. At about 7pm the phone was on and was able to track it, I went to Milnerton Police Station and was told that they couldn’t assist because the phone was in a location outside their jurisdiction.
I then went to Goodwood Police Station and in 10mins, 4 cops and I were at the location where the phone was (P.S also outside their jurisdiction), I swear it was like an episode of CSI.
We found the phone with my colleague who accidentally took the phone.
I would like to commend Cst Esmerelda Daniels, (pictured), W/O Pieters, W/O Faber, Cst Steven Drury, Sgt Manqina, Sgt Cilliers and Sgt Mbobi of Goodwood SAPS for their exceptional service.
They turned down my offer for coffee and said they were doing their job.
May God reward you all for your outstanding work.
