Anime

Artists have re-imagined nearly every country flag taking part in the 2020 Olympics in Japan. South Africa’s Anime character is so cool!

Tokyo, Japan – We are nearly halfway through 2019 which means that the Olympics are just around the corner. A group of creative artists decided to reimagine country flags into Anime characters.

The group have stated they are not affiliated with the Japanese Government; they just wanted to challenge their artistic skills.

“Hello! We are excited for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, so we started this unofficial project to introduce the flags of the world and some information about them using cool Japanese traditional clothes(samurai, firefighter, Japanese monk etc)!”

The group have taken the flags and a few critical elements of the country including culture, history and national image, to come up with a diverse selection of characters to represent the countries taking part in the games.

“World Flags has creators draw every flag samurai in order. We will increase more and more, so please look forward to it.

There are also parts that have not been examined, such as features and characteristics of the flag. We will update it at any time”

You can follow them on Twitter as they continue to reveal more of their Anime characters. They also encourage fans to create their own versions and have offered several resources on their website to people wanting to create an Anime character of their country’s flag.

Take a look at the South African Samaria below. We think he is pretty epic!
