The Blind Proteas are flying the flag high in India at the 3rd T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind; yesterday they beat Australia, and today they take on Sri Lanka.

 

South Africa (09 December 2022) – The Blind Proteas are currently representing South Africa at the Blind Cricket World Cup in India. The team is performing brilliantly, making everyone back home incredibly proud! Today they are playing in their third game, this one against Sri Lanka.

This year marks the 3rd T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind. The Blind Proteas is made up of Anathi Xelelo, Buhle Bhidla, David Landry, Doctor Malinga, Edrich Ter Haar, Fredrik Boer, Isaac Asanda Bidla, Ivaan Levendal, Johan Schroede, Lwande Bhidla, Mathulu Dlamini, Max Geerthsen, Reme Kampher, Simphiwe Khoza, Siyavuya Mahlikihla, Sphelele Khalala and Teboho Moloisane.

The team first played against Bangladesh, after a quick change was made to the lineup. Bangladesh won by 99 runs. The second match was played against Australia. South Africa won with 185 for 5 against Australia’s 180 for 7. South Africa’s Isaac Bidla earned man of the match against Australia.

Today the team is playing against Sri Lanka. The match is underway at the time of writing this, South Africa needs 114 runs from 41 balls. You can find the live updates here.
