Wits captain Constant Beckerling had social media abuzz on Monday night following his passionate, yet hilarious, post-match interview.
Another evening of fine rugby was on show on Monday evening at Wits University, as FNB Wits finally managed to get one over FNB UP-Tuks at the Wits Rugby Stadium, when they managed to beat them 25-19.
The giant-killers of round one in this year’s Varsity Cup, Wits University, were on home soil last night and up against the defending champions, the University of Pretoria (Tuks), but it was a challenge their coach was looking forward to.
Led by the impressive Constant Beckerling at flank, Wits stunned Tuks with a 25 – 19 win.
After the match, a visibly fired up Beckerling stated that they went onto the field to make history.
“We were prepared to win. We knew we were here to make history. All week, thats what we told ourselves. I am so proud of the boys. Absolutely humbled. The guys came out and played with enormous testicles and we absolutely did it. Fantastic effort. I am such a happy Captain.”
We’re not sure how the presenter kept a straight face.
