A Wits Rugby Player delivered an emotional post-match interview after winning the “FNB Player That Rocks” at Varsity Cup.

Cape Town, South Africa – Wits winger Dan Kasende and Captain Constant Beckerling gave one of the most emotional post-match interviews after winning the “FNB Player That Rocks” on Monday.

The 23-year-old talented rugby player had an incredibly emotional response while dedicating the match to his girlfriend, Christine Osborne, who passed away last week.

Wearing a vest with the words ‘RIP Christine Osborne. I love you baby’ printed on the front, Kapepula emotionally explained that he played his heart out for her and knows that she is looking down and she is so happy for him.

“This is the love of my life, Christine Osborne, she passed away last week Wednesday … my beautiful girlfriend. I played my heart out for her. I know she’s looking down and she’s so happy with me. I love you so much.”

Beckerling joined Kapepula during the interview and offered his team-mate and friend support.

“Sometimes you just have to go back to why you play the game, for the love of it, the friends and the brotherhood.”
