Must Watch: The All Blacks have updated their rugby jerseys to now include the rainbow flag!

The New Zealand Rugby Teams are tackling LGBTI discrimination with an incredible new jersey and campaign!

The campaign titled “Diversity is Strength” brings both male and female rugby teams together on the field to present a “united black” with a rainbow, appearing on their jerseys.

Just hours after All Blacks coach Steve Hansen praised halfback TJ Perenara for speaking out in favour of diversity, New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has released a diversity promotion video. Perenara tweeted his opposition last week to Australian rugby star Israel Folau’s comment on Instagram that gay people would go to Hell if they did not repent.

On Monday New Zealand Rugby released a two minute “diversity in strength” promotion video, which bring into play key aspects from the Folau controversy.

“The next battle is different. The next enemy is truly formidable and deeply devious. It is discrimination – an enemy that cannot be fought alone and must be defeated together. It will take more than 15 – it will take thousands, millions.”

Insurance company AIG sponsors the All Blacks and Black Ferns, and created the ad.

Its #diversityisstrength campaign also includes a specially made All Blacks jersey which reveals the rainbow flag when stretched.

“Now AIG has combined all the colours of the rainbow to create a United Black”

The amazing jersey has rainbow stripes painted on both sides of the ribbed material. The way the fabric is painted the colors get into the fabric which is how the rainbow reveals itself when the material is stretched.
