As South Africa prepares for a face-off with Ireland after last week’s thrill, more exciting news has come in the form of a songbird with Ntokozo Mbambo set to sing our national anthem!

Durban, South Africa (12 July 2024) — Tomorrow is rugby Saturday in South Africa as the Springboks prepare to face off with our formidable foes, Ireland.

While some Springboks like lock Franco Mostert are anticipating a never-say-die battle ahead for the Boks after a thrilling 27-20 victory against the Irish in Pretoria last week left the opposing team seeking redemption, South Africa has more to look forward to in the second test match than what many suspect will be a fierce clash.

Where Keabetswe (KB) Motsilanyane and the entire Loftus Versfeld stadium left South Africa in tears thanks to her outstanding national anthem performance last week, the baton will be taken over by legendary Gospel singer Ntokozo Mbambo come Saturday!

Ntokozo holds a special place in South Africa’s gospel circles, having been in the music industry for over 25 years. A trendsetter, contemporary shaker and award-winning performer, Ntokozo is no stranger to huge crowds and knows a thing or two about giving an audience goosebumps.

Singing the national anthem at such a significant match is a particularly special honour that her label, Koko Records, proudly announced, an announcement that came as music to many South African ears.

It’s all going down tomorrow at 5 pm in Durban, and we’ll be as glued to our screens as you are!
