Years of dedication and early mornings have paid off; now, Clayton and Taylor need help to take their talent to the Irish Winter Short Course Championships.

Johannesburg, South Africa (03 November 2025) – Two siblings but one dream. Clayton and Taylor Kassebaum have worked tirelessly in the pool for years. Now their dedication has earned them a chance to represent Central Gauteng Aquatics at the Irish Winter Short Course Championships in Dublin from 12–14 December 2025. To turn that opportunity into reality, they need the support of their community.

Clayton has always had a deep connection with the water. He has risen from local competitions to the South African Senior Level, mastering both pool and open water events. His quiet drive is about chasing personal bests and inspiring younger swimmers who watch him train. Competing in Ireland would allow Clayton to measure himself against the best in the world while continuing to grow as an athlete and as a person.

Taylor’s journey started with a little sibling rivalry, refusing to let her brother have all the glory. That competitive spark turned into a true passion for swimming. With South African National Junior qualifying times under her belt and a spot on the SA Open Water Team in Swaziland, Taylor has shown she can perform under pressure. Known for her energy, she uplifts everyone around her while pushing herself to new limits.

Travelling to Ireland comes with a cost, from the flights, accommodation, visas, and gala entries. Every contribution helps bring their dream closer to reality.

Recently, Taylor added another milestone to her journey, finishing in an impressive 3rd place in the 5km Open Water Race at Prime View. Her determination and perseverance continue to inspire those around her.

Now, Clayton and Taylor are inviting everyone to join them on this exciting chapter of their swimming journey. You can support them through their BackaBuddy page, helping these young athletes make waves on the international stage.
