South Africa has dominated the courts at the Billie Jean King Cup Africa III Group event so far; Making Mzansi proud!

Nairobi, Kenya (13 June 2024) — The Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III event has been the talk of the African tennis community recently, with one name on everyone’s lips—South Africa.

The tournament kicked off three days ago in Nairobi, Kenya, where the WIPHOLD SA Billie Jean King Cup team prepared to face off against their fellow African tennis stars.

South Africa proceeded to hold our own game after game; defeating Namibia in the first group stage event with a score of 3-0, followed by Madagascar which the SA players defeated their opponents with another 3-0 finisher. Finally, they took to the courts to face off with Zimbabwe where once again, South Africa was victorious.

This has meant that the SA team has finished off at the top of Group A where they will now progress to the 1st to 3rd Play-Offs to give their all against Nigeria and Kenya.

Meanwhile in other good news from South African sportspeople, the Olympic-qualified South African Men’s Hockey team claimed bronze at the FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup. Now, they’re hard at work preparing to fly the South African flag high in Paris.
