The 2025 Ironman South Africa African Championship medal has officially been revealed, and she’s a sure beauty. Take a look:

Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa (28 March 2025) — On Sunday, 30 March, competitors from all over the country and the world will unite in Nelson Mandela Bay to take on the ever-fierce, endurance-testing Ironman triathlon as they vie to meet times, make memories and race toward the African Championship Medal.

It’s the South Africa, African Championship event and the 20th anniversary of the Ironman all in one this Sunday, that’s kick-starting bright and early at Hobie Beach. In exciting news for those who have been working hard for months to prepare both their minds and bodies for the big day, the 2025 medal has been revealed!

A proud elephant emerging from the African continent as one, unique body, the medal boasts sentiments of power, pride and African flair.

This awaits the courageous athletes who will undertake swimming, cycling and running to great lengths. The swim is 3.8 km, while the bike session is a three-loop 180km race to be topped off with a run of 42.195 km.

However, all the action won’t end with the final crawlers on Sunday because there are still two Half Ironmans set to unfold. The Durban 70.3 is set for 1 July, while the Mossel Bay 70.3 is penciled in for 16 November!
