The Reach for a Dream Foundation gifted Beverley, a netball dreamer, the best day meeting the Proteas and helping them with the ball during one of their World Cup matches.
Cape Town, South Africa (08 August 2023) – Dream Days are what the Reach for a Dream Foundation lives for. The organisation works to surprise sickly children, often enduring terminal diseases and illness, with a day of their dreams. This helps each child, feel like a child again, even just for a day! Beverley got to spend hers with the Proteas at the Netball World Cup.
Reach For A Dream is a leading non-profit organisation, to help children fight a serious disease by making their dreams – such as swimming with dolphins, meeting an idol or celebrity or getting a new doll house – come true. This not only gives these youngsters and their families an invaluable respite from daily stressors associated with ill health but stirs up much-needed courage and hope, helping these little ones believe that tomorrow is worth fighting for.
“Beverley is a netball superstar in the making! Despite her illness, she loves to play netball with her friends and refuses to give up on her dreams.
On her dream day, we took her on an EPIC adventure to the Netball World Cup in Cape Town where she got to walk onto the court and hand over the ball to the South African captain just before the match began. Despite some nerves, she did it like a pro!
While South Africa won the game 61-50, the most important thing for us was that Beverley and her dad had an absolute blast! To top it off, she also received her dream cellphone with all the accessories. She was over the moon and couldn’t wait to share her amazing experience with her friends.
To end off this magical day, The Hyatt Regency went all out and sent a Mercedes Benz to take Beverley and her father for some yummy takeaway burgers to enjoy in their hotel room.
We couldn’t be prouder of Beverley, and we’re so thrilled that we could make her dream come true!”
These dreams make all the difference for the children and their families. They ignite hope, joy and bring peace. If you would like to support dreams like this one, you can find out more via the website here.
