Audrey Nethery rocked the stage and stole hearts at a Zumba Conference.
Kentucky, United States (23 August 2015) — Audrey is a little rock star! When she was invited to the International Zumba Convention to help spread awareness about Diamond Blackfan Anemia, she not only owned the stage but also stole everyone’s heart.
Audrey is only six years old and is from Kentucky.
Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA) is a life-threatening bone marrow disease, but instead of being sheltered, Audrey and her family have decided to spread the word about this disease in hopes of raising money to find a cure.
Audrey has always loved to dance and is active in Zumba.
Her videos went viral, and though she looks full of energy in the videos, her parents explain that she is often worn out and in pain caused by the disease.
However, her outlook on life always stays positive, and when people realize what she lives with, she always leaves a lasting impression on their hearts.
Her parents hope that through this awareness, people will donate to research to help find a cure.
In the meantime, what a precious memory for them all to participate in this Zumba conference. She lit up the stage like no one else can.
“Every time I see her dance, even when it’s just in her class, it makes me cry, but seeing her up on that stage was incredible,” her mom said. “When she’s dancing, she’s happy and brings so much joy to everyone watching.”
Go, Audrey – you are definitely a star!
