Moved to support children with life-threatening illnesses, Crawford International Fourways staff and students raised much-needed funds to provide joy and dreams come true for little fighters.
Johannesburg, South Africa (27 September 2024) – Blessed to be a blessing! This perfectly captures the generosity of the students and staff of Crawford International Fourways, who rallied their community to raise funds for Reach For A Dream’s Slipper Day.
The Reach For A Dream Foundation proudly announced Crawford International as the top fundraising school for Slipper Day 2024!
More than a fundraising campaign, Slipper Day is a demonstration of the amazing things that can happen when people come together with a shared concern for children facing life-threatening illnesses – a beacon of hope for countless children across South Africa.
The funds raised ensure that Reach For A Dream can continue its mission of bringing comfort and joy to young dreamers, fulfilling their dreams, and offering them moments of happiness during their most challenging times.
In recognition of their efforts, Crawford International Fourways will receive an R25,000 prize sponsored by Hush Puppies.
This award not only celebrates the school’s incredible achievement but also underscores the profound impact that communities can have when they come together to support children in need.
“We are deeply moved by the generosity and spirit of the students, parents, and staff at Crawford International Fourways. Their tireless efforts directly contribute to giving children fighting life-threatening illnesses a chance to experience joy, hope, and the power of a dream,” said Julia Sotirianakos, CEO of Reach For A Dream.
“We also extend our deepest gratitude to every individual and school across South Africa that joined us for Slipper Day 2024. Your support changes lives.”
Reach For A Dream has already marked the 30th of May as its 2025 Slipper Day and invites schools, businesses, and individuals nationwide to mark their calendars and join them in making the next Slipper Day an even greater success.
“Let’s continue to dream big, inspire change, and make a lasting difference in the lives of brave young fighters,” Sotirianakos adds.
