It’s almost time for the annual Love Notties Floatarama event, a day set to be filled with splashes, laughter and fundraising that’ll support Early Childhood Development Centres!
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (14 January 2025) — The Love Notties Floatarama event is a regular favourite for friends of Love Notties. A chance to support the organisation’s work in Early Childhood Development, the Floatarama promises all kinds of fun whilst raising funds for the betterment of others.
For those who don’t know, the Midlands-based Love Notties is a community project that seeks to create positive change in the area. From relief and aid to environmental efforts and education, Love Notties rarely knows boundaries when it comes to solving a problem. Whether it’s beautifying a garden, fixing a pothole or making sure someone hungry has a meal to enjoy, the team have built an army of people ready to reclaim hope for their community’s future.
An important branch of the team’s initiatives is to reach children in Early Childhood Development centres. Love Notties supports two ECDs, Siyakhula and Sikhulile, by providing goods to give young learners breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day. As it is with their overarching efforts for Nottingham Road, they are always at the ready to garner support for other needs their friends in education might have.
The Floatarama event then serves as a fantastic channel to start the year off strong for their ECD work!
The idea is that every ‘float’ entered is handmade using cardboard, duct tape, paint, plastic bottles and string. It’s then ‘entered’ into the Floatarama event (happening on 19 January this year at the Glensheiling Caravan Park) for R50 and a chance to stay afloat for as long as possible.
Fun for the whole family and especially the little ones, the event gives everyone a chance to kick back with other members of their community whilst hoping that their float boat can go the distance!
